The Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry Celebrates Isra' Mi'raj

JPM, 11 April 2019 - The Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI) and its Department held an event to mark the Isra' Mi'raj celebration for the year 1440H on Thursday, 11th April 2019 at the Main Theatre Hall, Prime Minister's Office Building. Present at the event as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md Hussein, Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry.

Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Permanent Secretary (Energy); Yang Mulia Awang Haji Zolkiflee bin Haji Abdul Karim, Permanent Secretary (Manpower); Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Industry); Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Tutiaty bin Haji Abdul Wahab, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Industry); Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy and Power) of MEMI as well as officers and staff from MEMI and its Department.

The ceremony began with an HSE briefing and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by welcoming remarks by Yang Mulia Pengiran Shariful bin Pengiran Seri Indera Pengiran Haji Ismail as the Co-Chairman of MEMI's Isra' Mi'raj Celebration, Organizing Committee.

A special talk entitled "the Wisdom of Isra' Mi'raj" was also delivered by Yang Mulia Dr. Awang Haji Harapandi Bin Dahri, Director of Centre for the Understanding of Ahli Sunnah Waljama'ah of Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPUSB). Yang Mulia Dr. Awang Harapandi shared the meaning of Isra' as the journey of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Masjidil Haram to Masjidil Aqsa. While Mi'raj refers to the ascension of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to the Sidratul Muntaha. He also shared that among the key message of Isra' Mi'raj was the obligatory prayers or Solat. The event is held to enliven the celebration of the Isra' Mi'raj while at the same time, allowing officers and staff of the Ministry to forge closer ties.
